The Gandon Inn is located on the N7 just off the M7 Motorway from Dublin to Cork/Limerick. Take the exit No 15. The Gandon Inn is ideal for touring the midlands of Ireland. From the M7 Motorway take the exit No 15 - Mountmellick/Portarlington interchange. The Gandon Inn is on the Left.

The Gandon Inn is centrally located; approximatley 1 hour drive from Dublin, 1hr 30min from Limerick, 10 minutes from Portlaoise, 10 minutes from Mountmellick, 10 minutes from Stradbally and 10 minutes from Monasterevin.

HISTORY
The Gandon Inn building was designed by the world famous architect James Gandon, who is probably best known for desigining The Custom House in Dublin which has been described as one of the noblest buildings in Europe.

Gandon was also involved in the design of The Four Courts, The Carlisle (O'Connell) Bridge and The Bank of Ireland, D'Olier Street. Locally he also designed Emo Court House for the 1st Earl of Portarlington as well as Coolbanagher Church.

Located in the centre of Ireland, The Gandon Inn's prestigious premises dates back to 1750 and was originally an Old Coach House.
